Question: Can a 70% blockage cause a heart attack if nothing is done!?
I am taking a low dose asprin daily , have had a aortic valve replaced and one heart attack, I was told nothing needed to be done for the 70% blockage I have, except the asprin !. Is this the normal for my condition!.!? I am worried about another heart attack, my first one was a non- ST , what ever that means!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A 70% blockage can result in a heart attack IF there is no collateral circulation!. If your cardiologist has performed an echocardiogram or has assessed your circulation via an angiogram and states that nothing needs to be done, then my guess is that you have sufficient collateral circulation to compensate for the blockage!.

One friend of mine had a triple bypass!. It cost $50,000 but insurance paid!. Another friend of mine needed 5 bypass operation!. Well I would get a second opinion!.My wife and I take low dose aspirin daily!.It didn't stop her getting a big heart attack!.Which fortunately she has had a big op and is ok!.So Aspirin alone won't stop a heart attack!.Are'nt you on a blood thinning drug or something!?If your not happy ask your doctor again!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Well I can tell you that it doesn't sound good!. I would get a second opinion from a different cardiologist if I were you!. It seems like they could have done a better job at describing your condition to you as well! At 70% blocked, I would get that 2nd opinion quick!Www@Answer-Health@Com
yep!. - the blood flow is sufficient to 75% blockage!. Until that point they will use asprin, diet, exercise etc to lower cholesterol and try to slowly reduce the blockage!.
