Question: What respiratory problem does this sound like!?!?!?
The smell of cooked food makes my throat start closing up and I cough and gag!.
At the first bite of food, I am in a sickening coughing spell that only gets better if I take cough syrup!.
Is it asthma or something else!?
Help me because my doctor isn't fixing it!.
Every medication he tries on me, makes me sicker!
The doc said it's asthma!.!.!. but I'm the one doubting him!. I need to know what it is!!!

You didn't mention how long this has been going on!. It's quite possible that you have a deep sinus infection!. With this type of infection food smells combine in the sinus' and can cause violent reactions up to and including vomiting!. Have you had an x-ray of your head by any chance!? What about post nasal drip!? Sore throat/ foul aroma or taste in the mouth!? If your noding your head and saying yes!. Get a second or third opinion!. Write your symptoms down, when they started, what they are, the type of treatments that you have already tried!. You need to be agressive about your healthcare!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Just from reading a tiny bit after looking that up on google, it's possible that you have that!. I'm not a doctor so I'm not sure!.
It is also possible that you just don't like the food (if it's only one type of food) or how they cook it!. You could be allergic to it!?
Asthma is completely different!. Asthma is something you have from working too hard and pollution!. My mother has a very bad case of asthma and just the things she is allergic to makes her breathe very hard and in the winter when the pollution level is high, she is very at risk for asthma attacks!.

Are you sure you don't have postnasal drip!? or Maybe you haver GERD or a swallowing problem!. Cystic fibrosis is a very serious genetic disorder that affects the lungs and other parts of the body!. It would be very unlikely for you to have this disorder and not know it!. The other thing that happens is some people have something where they feel like something gets stuck in thier throat all the time even though there is nothing there!. It can be a weird sensation from the brain!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
First of all!.!.!.!. Cystic Fibrosis is genetic so you would usually show signs when you were young and a doctor would know if you did!.!.!. If your doctor said it is asthma than it could be!.!.!. I have asthma and food doesn't do that to me but people are different!. I have a bunch of ideas of what you could have but I'm not a doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
