Question: For people that have ,pacemaker!?
i have one since 8 months ago !.so do i ever need to have the whole unit replace again !? or just the battery ,Www@Answer-Health@Com

It matters how much you use it!. Some pacemakers just sit on standby in case your heart gets to slow and then it kicks in a beat here or there!. Sometimes your heart is consistantly too slow and the pacemaker is working all the time!. You should be scheduled for a fallow-up visit where the company that made the pacemaker puts a device on the outside of your body and can tell how it has been working and they can tell you an estimate of how many years it will be until you have to replace it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Replacing the battery requires replacing the unit (though the wires stay in place, it's a very small procedure)!. Depending on the type of pacemaker you have and the use it sees you may be able to go quite a while before that needs to be done though!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
For an ICD you won't have that problem for 3 to 6 years!. For a true pacemaker some will last a decade before they need to be replaced!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
