Answers:
AIDS is caused by the HIV virus but there are a number of different "strains" or varieties of the HIV virus!. This is why no one AIDS vaccine has yet worked successfully!. When 2 people with AIDS have unprotected sex, each could pass on to the other more virus or slightly different HIV virus!. The more virus you have, the more serious the effects on your body can be!. Even a person with AIDS can have other sexually transmitted disease, such as hepatitis B or syphilis or gonorrhea, so they should also use protection to avoid catching something else which would harm their bodies!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My understanding (and I won't confess to being an expert on this) is that because AIDS will lower a person's immunity, they need to be particularly careful about not catching diseases of any type!. This is not so much an issue for two people who are HIV+, but if they have AIDs, then it would be particularly easy for them to catch other diseases!.

HIV/AIDS is not the only STD around!. And I would think that people with HIV would be as upset (if not MORE upset) to discover that they have chlamydia or gonorrhea or herpes or whatever than someone who is HIV-!.

I have a much much less worrisome incurable STD - herpes!. And (were I single) I would still protect against STDs!.

So my vote (and since I'm not an expert, it really is just a vote) is that unprotected sex is STILL bad, even if you already have one!. And even if the one you have his HIV / AIDS!.

Good question!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

the aids and HIV virus has mutated into two different strains!. the new strain is much more difficult to treat!. there are many treatments available for the old strains and peole have lived for 20 years and longer before secumming to the disease!. those who are contracting the new strains won't be so lucky!. so the reality is not only can you catch AIDs or HIV you can catch it twice and until there are more medical advancements, the new one will kill you if the old one already hasn't!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Norton g gave you a good answer!. One correction though!. There have been no vaccines trialed for AIDS!. The vaccine trials have been for HIV!. A BIG difference!.

Also, someone else mentioned that there were different strains of AIDS!. This is not true!. AIDS is AIDS!. There are, however, different strains of HIV!. Again, a very big difference!.

You might think that this is nit-picking!. Ask someone who is HIV+ if they think that HIV is the same as AIDS!. Better yet, don't ask, just think about it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Besides possibly getting infected with different strain of AIDS, probably nothing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
