They don't!. There are different forms of lung cancer !. !. some primary, some secondary !. !. survival depends on many contributing factors !. !. what is the location of the tumors within or on the lung, the type, the grade, the stage of the disease, survival also depends on the age of the patient, response to treatment, and access to a cancer center (research, university, NCI - the better the facility - the better chance)!.
People are also wrong to assume that lung cancer is inherently fatal !. !. !.or any other cancer including pancreatic !. !. it is generally not the location of the disease that determines the threat to life !. !.it is metastasis or the fact that the disease is traveling through the body and lodging in distant locations!.
I know people who have had up to 20 - 30 mets to the lungs treated successfully with radiofrequency ablation and/or cryoablation from the pleura of the lung !. !. it is also possible to remove one cancerous lung !. !. (we have two) !. !. those are a few treatment options !. !. there are a few skilled world wide surgeons who still will attempt to surgically remove lung nodules and tumors !. !. but a patient needs to advocate for themselves and meet the criteria for acceptance!. Personal research and alot of luck is key to finding successful treatment!.

No I don't believe that is the case!.!.!. all cancer patients have the same chance provided the cancer is caught on time before it spreads to other body organs!.!. the most dangerous cancer is cancer of the pancreas from which Patrick Swayze is now suffering because there are no early symptoms and by the time there is pain usually the cancer has spread to other organs and therefore most people with cancer of the pancreas have a small survival chance!.!.!. Michael Landon died of it when he was in his early 50's, last year Luciano Pavarotti the great Baritone singer died of the same cancer and now the cancer of Patrick Swayze has spread to his stomach and a part of it had to be removed!.!. I hope he will live but chances are dim!.!.!.!.!. but I believe a positive attitude can prolong life!.!. and he seems to be positive!.!.!.!.so instead of having just weeks to live he may have months or even a year!.xxWww@Answer-Health@Com

I suppose it is because chemo can't kill off all the cancer cells, chemo is mostly used to delay the inevitable!. Small cell does indeed grow faster than non small cell lung cancer, but I don't think we die any faster than someone with pancreatic or colon!. Depends mostly if we are operable or not, and how we respond to treatments!.!. also the spread of the cancer has a big part in survival time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

becuase lung tissue is difficult to heal and lungs are very important to the body becuase it distributes oxygen and it removes dioxide carbon and when the lungs are affected by cancer where tumor grows and consumes the lung then the breathing is affected and cancer can spread to near by organs like the heart and it often kills people faster than other cancers if untreated, and the worst lung type of cancer is the small cell lung cancer which spreads very quick and i saw my father how quick it affected his health with this cancer!. detecting this cancer before is spread then you have a very good chance of cure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
lung cancer usually isn't caught until it's in the late stages, so it's often metastized by then spread to other organ or the lymph nodes) thereby wreaking more havok on the body than they can cut out or radiate!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
It's usually diagnosed late often people put up with a cough way to long and it's a usually a very aggresive cancer!. I'm really sorry if someone you love has passed away because of it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
