I need a good reason/excuse?!

Question: I need a good reason/excuse!?
I am going in for hemorrhoid surgery & will have to take time off work!. What do I say when people ask me why I'm taking time off!? I certainly dont want to tell them hemorrhoid surgery, but I don't want to tell them "none of your business" either!. 2 girls were recently diagnosed with cancer- we talk about that!. 3 girls are in recovery- we talk about that!. But THIS is embarrassing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, I would just tell them I was having butt surgery and ask them if they know any good jokes about it!. Or I'd tell them I was getting a face lift and when I came back they can tell me how beautiful I look LOL! And then tell them I didn't get a face lift at all!.
But a NORMAL person, would just tell the people who they want to tell and be aloof with everyone else!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you feel like it would be rude to say you are simply going to the doctor for a mild procedure, but you would rather not specify what, you might want to consider telling your friends you are going to have a different surgery!.

I recently had to have my adenoids removed!. They are the pharyngeal tonsils, located above the tonsil in the back of your sinuses!.

This surgery is not too uncommon, but is definitely uncommon enough that your friends will not question you if you say you had it done!. You just have to know the basics of the procedure:

When the adenoids become enlarged, it can affect breathing, causing one to snore!. (I'm a dancer, and I wasn't able to get the right amount of air through my nose -- if you play sports, you can site this as the reason you wanted the procedure done!.) A person with enlarged adenoids can sometimes be unable to breath through their nose, as the adenoids swell into the nasal passage into the throat, blocking the ability for air to pass down!.

(My adenoids were over 90% swollen; the doctor said they looked 100% swollen, but I could still breathe through my nose, so he said there must have been some small opening!.)

The procedure for removal can necessitate a few days' recovery time!. (Generally 1-4 days, but you can fudge the time to suit your needs!.)

An adenoidectomy is actually not as invasive as a tonsilectomy because the incision site is up behind the nose -- a patient does not need to worry about irritating the mending area by eating, and does not have to worry about the formation of scar tissue affecting their voice!.

Complications can include infection or excessive bleeding down into the throat, but these are very rare!. I was back in school within two days, but you could easily extend this time, because, as I said before, this a little-known procedure that none of your friends will question!.

Good luck with you hemorrhoids!Www@Answer-Health@Com

You could simply tell them you're taking some personal time!. That would be true in more ways than one!. If you feel the need to join the medical woes brigade, tell them you're having a simple procedure done to alleviate some minor low back pain!. You don't have to tell them how low down your back it actually is!. If they want to go into what the procedure is, just brush it off!. Tell them you're not looking forward to it, and it makes you uncomfortable talking about it!. If that isn't enough for them, or you feel obligated to tell them, you guys are way to personally involved for the workplace setting!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hmm!. I don't know!. Apparently that surgery is very painful!. I'm no doctor, but it will probably put you out of work for awhile!. You could always tell the truth !? Or you could say that your mother from somewhere far away is very sick, and that you are going to live with her for a little while to take care of her!.!.!.!. But whatever you decide, you'll probably get some nice painkillers for that surgery!. Doubt that interests you!. Sure doesn't me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well, it depends how long you are going to be off if its a day you would say im having a doctors appointment and his office is really far away!. or a week would be something like, i need to go visit a relative hes in need of my service, but i cant tell you his problem its too personal!.!.something like thatWww@Answer-Health@Com

If I were you I would tell them that you are going in for a small medical procedure and it isn't anything that big and you really don't want to talk about it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

say your relative or friend is having hemorrhoid surgery (or any other scary disease/operation) and that you need to help em out, take care of their son, daughter, dog, etc!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
