How exactly do you get chicken pox?!

Question: How exactly do you get chicken pox!?
Answers:
Chicken pox is caused by the herpes zooster virus!. It is a very contagious air born virus more prevalent during the winter months!. Once you come into contact with the virus it incubates about 14 days and then you become sick, first fever, don't feel well then the blisters appear!. Once it resolves it lives in your nerve roots!. If this virus is irritated it can travel down the nerve and you then develop shingles which appears on one side of the body only!. There is a vaccine for children for chicken pox and one for adults for shingles!. Newborns are NOT given all vaccines as they must follow a schedule based on age to be effective!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is a virus called varicella and it is very contagious!. It can be spread by skin contact, airborne contact and inhaled!. The incubation (time it takes from contact to illness) is 10-21 days and you are contagious for up to 2 days before you break out in lesions (chicken pox) and until the pox are healed thereafter!.

There is now a vaccine for chickenpox so full scale outbreaks aren't very common in most developed countries anymore!. I had it as a child and can tell you it itches like sin!. If you do contract it, Aveeno oatmeal baths can help as well as Aveeno lotion!. But mostly, you just have to wait it out and try not to scratch!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
