I keep waking up deaf in my left ear?!

Question: I keep waking up deaf in my left ear!?
For the past couple of days, I've been waking up without the ability to hear in my left ear, completely!. The first time lasted only thirty seconds, like it was a pressure on my ear you get from sleeping on your arm!. But the next day it lasted for all of thirty minutes and I could only get rid of it by sticking a q-tip in there for a couple of minutes and taking it out (I made sure there was absolutely no wax in my ear)!. Now today it lasted around two hours, no matter how much I scratched/stuck + took out q-tips!. Finally I could hear again, but this is scaring the poo out of me!. I'm afraid I'll wake up tomorrow and not be able to hear for the whole day or ever again!. I know to go to my doctor, but does anyone have a name for this!? I think my dad has the same thing, but with him his doctor had punctured his ear drum with machinery so it's less odd!. Sorry, this was a little long!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Put a few drops of mineral oil in your ear!. This should melt the ear wax!. Do that a couple times a day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It might be just earwax!. Q-tips can't get deep into your ear canal, or you may just be packing the earwax in further with the Q-tip!. I would try getting your ear syringed!.

It could be like tinitus, which I don't think they can do anything about, but tinitus usually has ringing!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

This has happened to me before and it was just a buildup of ear wax!. You can go to the doctor and have it flushed out or you can do it yourself!. They actually sell kits for this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

welcome to my life (born without fully formed left ear)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I get this all the time, it's a buildup of wax and some people are more prone to it than other, nothing to do with Hygiene necessarily!. To temporarily fix it you can take a deep breath, hold your nose, close your mouth and try to breath out hard with everything held closed!. Sometimes that'll work!. There ARE kits you can buy which you stick in your ear and it blows water out, or you can try buying mineral oil which softens the wax!. Neither of those ever work for me!. I fill up the bathtub, get in, put my head underwater for a bit and just kind of use my finger as if I were trying to clean my ear out!. This usually gets the wax soft enough that it just runs out when you bring your head up, or the wax just runs out when your sleeping!.

Sorry it sounds so grotesque but it's nothing to worry about! Your doctor can easily clean your ear out if you can get in to see them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
