Family history: Sister has had many uti's, kidney infection, and kidney stones around my age!.

For the last 2 week I have had sharp cramp like pains shooting through my lower right side of my back, under my rib cage!. It would happen 1-2 times a day!. Yesterday it happened 3-4 times while my friend was with me within a 20 min period!.!.!. she said it sounds like I am starting to get a kidney infection, she has had one before and she said my symptoms were like hers!.

Today I have had a overall dull pain in my lower right back, under my rib cage!. I feel uncomfortable leaning on my right side!. Sitting here, I feel like on my right side, between my stomach and back, I feel a bit of pressure and dull pain!.

I have chronic UTI's!.!.!. is there a med I can get that I can take whenever I need it and not have to go to the doc!? And also, does it sound like a kidney infection is coming on!? Just a urine sample is all the doc would need!? Thank you!Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you had a simple UTI, you would have the typical symptoms of urinary burning, urgency, frequency and some lower belly pressure or aching!. With the pain you are describing, it sounds like you have a kidney stone which is trying to pass from the kidney to the bladder through the ureter, which is the tube that transports urine to the bladder!. This can cause an infection in the urine, so even if you have a urinalysis and it shows an infection, this does not rule out a stone!. The way to diagnose a stone is by Xrays, blood in the urine, and usually a Cat Scan of the abdomen to find the stoneand the size (to tell if it can pass on its own)!. If you have a regular GP, see if you can go in today and be seen!. He can order the tests as an outpatient which are a LOT cheaper than going to an ER!. IF you don't have a doctor, try a wask in urgent care clinic!. They can also do everything that is needed to make the diagnosis and referral to a ruologist! If the stone passes on its own, KEEP IT! You need to have your doctor get a chemical analysis of it to determine which kind it is!. Some can be treated by dietary changes or medication to prevent the formation of more!.
You will need good pain management meanwhile and it might get a lot worse before it is over!. If you haven't done so already, take 800 mg of ibuprofen/motrin with some food!. IF you start vomiting, you may need a pain shot (the best drug for this is toradol)!.
Just be sure you aren't pregnant before taking any pain meds but tylenol!.
To prevent UTI's, drink lots of fluids daily to keep the bladder flushed and drink cranberry juice every day to keep the urine more acidic!. This keeps the bacteria from growing in the bladder!. If you have sex, get up afterward and void your bladder to flush out the system!
Hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com

Well if you have an infection, you're gonna need antibiotics and where do you go to get those, to the doctors! I mean, we aren't doctors just advisors, it could be anything!. Your health isn't a game and you should want to go see a doctor, so you can feel better and no what is wrong!Www@Answer-Health@Com

The pain of kidney stone is loin to groin pain!. It is sharp pain I think!. You better have to see the doc!. Because if it is renal stone, you may need management!. If you keep this longer, it is not good for your health!. It may lead to renal failure!. In most UTI, the urine is not clear and painful urination will suffer!. And the urine may also may contain pus!. In the case of renal stone, UTI also can get!. So my suggestion is that go to the doc!. I wish you to get well!. Thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
