Question: I'm finally ready to have an STD test, but it's been 10 months!.!.is it too late!?
I haven't been sexually active in 10 months!. I got a yeast infection 10 months ago, and I didn't go to a doctor, I treated it with monistat!.!.I think maybe I had some warts too, but I'm not sure, (they're gone now)!. I'm ready to have an STD test now, and I know that blood test is only for HIV and Syphills!. Do I have to see a doctor for other STD tests!? Or should I just ask for them without seeing a doctor!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your doctor can test you for other STDs such as Herpes and HPV through a blood test!. However, you have to specifically ask your doctor to do these tests!. Warts are caused by HPV which a virus that will show up in a blood test (for women)!.
Hopefully you have been using protection for the last 10 months!. It is important to try to get tested promptly if you think you are having STD symptoms!. Do go and see a doctor or possibly a nurse because the warts you mention are often caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV) which can quietly affect the cervix of the uterus and cause abnormal changes later leading to cancer of the cervix!. A simple Pap smear would show such changes under the microscope and lead to effective treatment!. If you have even silent HPV, you could pass it on to any sexual contacts!. You might even benefit from the new vaccine against HPV infection!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
