What treatment for a one 1/2 year old with a fever of 102.3?!

Question: What treatment for a one 1/2 year old with a fever of 102!.3!?
Answers:
Assuming that your 18 month old is average size/weight, dose Motrin (ibuprofen) 1!.875 ml (the highest level marked on the syringe that comes with the product) every 8 hours, and Tylenol (acetominaphen - infants' drops) 160 mg (2- 0!.8 syringes full)!. Make sure that you have the INFANTS drops -- not the one for 2-6 year olds!. Do the Tylenol every 4-6 hours!.

If you go to the ER they will only do the exact same thing, except they will charge you alot more for it!. How do I know!? Been there, done that!. Except my daughter's fever was about 104!.

Oh, and how are you taking her temp!? If it's by armpit instead of rectally you can expect a different temperature!. The MOST accurate method is rectally!.

Also, a temp of 102 isn't dangerous for a toddler!. That's only a concern if the child is under 6 months!.

Edited to add: DO NOT FOLLOW JURDONNA'S ADVICE RE: ASPIRIN!!!!!!!!!!! This can cause Reye's Syndrome!. DO NOT give anyone under age 18 aspirin EVER!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Pediatricians always told me to strip the child down, put the child into a tepid bath (not cold, but the chill taken off) and give them baby aspirin!. Motrin (advil) is for inflammation!. Aspirin or tylenol is for pain!.
Try to get fluids down your baby so he/she doesn't get dehydrated!. You can call the dr!. too, but it's important to get the fever down!. And don't keep socks on them while the fever is high!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try tylenol or ibuprophen infant drops and a warm bath to lower his temperature!. A baby that young really shouldn't be allowed to have a temp that high!. If it doesn't go down he needs to go to the ER!. He also may have an infection requiring antibioticsWww@Answer-Health@Com

motrin, dosed by weight!. If the motrin does not relieve in 3 hours give a dose of infant tylenol, also dosed by weight!. Can do this until fever is broken!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Urgent care of emergency room, unfortunately!. A child this young with a fever that high can dehydrate VERY FAST!. Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

Put them in a cool bath with peppermint!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Erm!.!.!. go to your doctor ASAP!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
