Is EMLA cream to be hoarded?!

Question: Is EMLA cream to be hoarded!?
Gina's had diabetes almost 3 years and the first I heard of EMLA cream was three weeks ago!. Even got a little pushback with the prescription!. I have an HMO and it's covered so I dont know it's retail cost!. Is it expensive!? Hard to come by!? In limited supply!? New!? Are there coincidental adverse affects being linked to it!? It seems like it's hidden from sight, is that just my perception!?

If you're as in the dark as I was about EMLA cream it's a cream that you apply to the skin 30 minutes before changing the pump's infusion site!. It numbs the skin and the injection is virtually painless!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think it's totally insane that doctor's wouldn't tell you about this in the beginning!. It took us quite a few months to find out about it as well!. Especially in a child, wouldn't they be up front with something that will cause less pain for them!.!.!.they go through enough!!

I got it through my insurance for the $5!.00 co-pay, which means it isn't TOO expensive or one of the ones that they don't cover at the lowest cost (that's the cheapest I can get prescriptions for)!. I couldn't find the original paperwork for what it retails for, but I wouldn't think it would be too expensive!.

Here are the possible side effects of it!. I haven't read anything as to severe adverse effects!.

THIS MEDICINE BLOCKS PAIN AND FEELING in the skin!. Be careful not to injure the treated skin by scratching, rubbing, or coming in contact with extreme cold or heat!. IF YOU EXPERIENCE difficulty breathing; tightness of chest; swelling of eyelids, face, or lips; or if you develop a rash or hives, tell your doctor immediately!. Do not use any more of this medicine unless your doctor tells you to do so!.

SIDE EFFECTS, that may go away during treatment, include skin paleness, loss of feeling, itching, redness, or swelling at the treated site!.

We haven't had any issues and it comes in very handy!. Good luck and hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

hi lol no its not to be hoarded i had some when i was first diagnosed and all i can say is i HATE that stuff it makes your skin feel so weird, also your pump shouldn't really hurt, and if it does hurt it means something is wrong so you want to be able to feel it!.

wel thats just what i think!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi I don't know how much it costs but I do know it's been around for a while!. I have used it before and for a few different reasons, including pump sites!. It's a great product! I don't think it is hard to come by, you need a script!. I don't think it's "hidden" just not popular!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
