Question: Going for colposcopy tomorrow!.!.!. no stds!?!?
I'm going for a colposcopy tomorrow after 2 abnormal paps in the past 2 months!. When the doctor first told me that I had precancerous cells I immediately started checking off the few guys that I've slept with during my life and who I was going to kill!. I mentioned this out loud to my doctor and she said that I tested negative for all STDs including HPV, there was no need to kill anyone!. She gave me some antibiotics and after that, I went back again for another pap, and it came back with the same results!. Does that seem right to you!? I've done some research and most things say that HPV causes the precancer in the cervix!. Now I'm stressing!. I've had great paps over the past 11 years!. I'm not a "loose" woman!. 5 guys in 12 years!. All were tested for STDs and came up clean, along with me!. What else might cause this!? If anyone can give me an inkling of something, I would be most grateful!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

hey sweetie, i used to go to planned hood for 13 years in my later 30,s the pap came back positive but they said my lab results came back negative for s!.t!.d!.s and h!.p!.v not to worry!. next year same thing so i had a 2 opion and was in surgery 2 weeks later for a cervical removal op, when he got in there i did have cancer and he had to remove my utures as well!. he was disgusted planned parenthood didn't even suggest i had a tissue sample or a 2 opion they just said, more like assumed, I'm fine, it almost coast me my life!.it dosent matter both std test and hpv test came back negative you could VERY well be in immediate dangerWww@Answer-Health@Com
My mom had 2 abnormal colposcopy too!. You don't only get it through you know what you can get it as little as 6 years old!.
My mom gets those test it just says she has HPV!. But as soon as they see a tumor its getting removed that same week!. I'm only 14 and take this shot called gardasal and I'm still a virgin!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

anyone who thinks that HPV is simply the only way to get cervical cancer is kidding themselves!.!. think about people who get lung cancer without smoking!?!?!?!?

Cancer can occur anywhere in the body at any time!. Ever since this gardisil shot came out, people think that they will be completely protected against cervical cancer and that HPV is the ONLY cause of cervical cancer!. That is not true at all! You can certainly get cervical cancer even if you do not have HPV!. Most types of cervical cancer are caused by the virus, but some are not!.!.!. it's similar to how most cases of lung cancer are related to smoking, but some aren't!.
Also, people think if they have HPV or genital warts that they will automatically get cervical cancer!. In fact, there are over 40 strains of HPV, only 4 of of which have been proven to be linked to cancer!.
While lots of things have been linked to cancer, there is no way that anyone can pinpoint the exact cause of a person's specific cancer!. I have seen cancer strike seemingly healthy people, and the cause is never known!.
