Question: Best Cough Medicine!?!!?! PLZ HELP!?
My fiancee has this HORRIBLE cough that has been keeping him up all night for several nights now!. He was already taking Robitussin but that hasnt helped!. his cough is VERY productive so i dont think he needs something to loosen mucus!. he just needs something to stop that horrible cough!. he also has a metallic taste whenever he coughs!.

Phenergen ( i think that's how it's spelled)!. It's by prescription only so he'd have to get it from his doctor!. It's amazing!. I went to the dr because i had a cough that just wouldn't stop no matter how much robitussin i took!. Phenergen has a cough medicine plus an antihistamine!. The antihistamine stops the "tickling" or the urge to cough!. The only problem is that it made me really really drowsy so i could only take it at night!. But i had the best sleep in a long time since i wasn't up all nigh coughing!.

Tell him to go to the doctor (sounds like bronchitis) and get some antibiotics and/or an inhaler and cough syrup with codeine!. It'll definitely help him sleep while also loosening up the phlegm!. If he doesn't want to do this, tell him to take nyquil to knock him out but bronchitis usually doesn't react to otc stuff!. Have him sleep elevated so his chest doesn't produce as much coughing and get a humidifier!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
