I bought a small bottle of Vitamin E oil from a recommendation from my doc!. I mix in a few drops with my normal lotion and smear it on there!. It helps a bit!. I also rub a little Neosporin on my sites to help them heal after I rip the infusion set out!. But a red polka-dot tummy is just the price we have to pay!.!.!.it's well worth it!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ah, baby!! It helps to keep the skin pretty and soft to rub in cocoabutter, lanolin, sheabutter and stuff like that, but that is all it does!.

The insulin bumps will not happen if you do the shots in various places randomly!. Deal with this for a while and then maybe you can get an insulin pump!. That way you will only have to stick once every 3 or 4 days!. But that is in your future after you learn to count carbs fairly accurately!.

I have been doing the shots for about 5 years now and don't have any marks to show for it!. Sometimes I hit a little blood vessel and have a slight bruise for a couple of days, but those fade!. I get one of those about every 3 months or so, not often at all!.

If you are getting bruises, please go talk to the diabetes educator again!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The needles are so small with the syringes nowadays, I wouldn't worry!. As long as you keep rotating where you do them, you won't have any problems with long-term scars!. My son has incredibly sensitive skin and we worried about it at first, but all the 'scars' are gone!. Now, we worry about scars from his pump sites as the catheter and insertion needle are much bigger than the syringe needles!. But even they seem to be fading, it just takes longer!. If we do notice that one is red or seems to be inflammed, we do put a topical antibiotic and a tiny bandaid over it for a day or two - so he doesn't get an infection and it seems to help the healing!.
Have you tried injecting in your tush!? The skin there seems to be tougher (like the legs)!. Good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

sweety, the marks will fade you will get used to this soon, I promise!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
