Answers:
Yes, you can (could) infect her!. Mononucleosis is popularly referred to as "the kissing disease"!. Then again, no need to worry, it will be over before you know it!. It is a benign disease, although it has one serious complication!. During the infection, the spleen can get enlarged, or even ruptured!.
A ruptured spleen is rare in people with mono, but it's wise to be aware of the signs and call your doctor right away if you notice any of them!. Signs of a ruptured spleen include pain in the left upper part of your abdomen (under the left chest), feeling lightheaded, feeling like your heart is beating fast and hard, bleeding more easily than usual and having trouble breathing!.
Mono will go away on its own!. Symptoms usually last about 4 weeks!.
Rest!.
Drink plenty of fluids!.
If you have a sore throat, gargle with salt water, or suck on throat lozenges, hard candy or flavored frozen desserts (such as Popsicles)!.
You may want to take acetaminophen (one brand name: Tylenol) or ibuprofen (some brand names: Advil, Motrin, Nuprin) to relieve pain and fever!.
You need to avoid physical activities for about 3 to 4 weeks after the infection starts!. So start looking for good TV shows and laze around a bit until it goes away!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

When I had mono, it took me about two months to fully recover!. Feel your spleen regularly!. The size of it is a good indicator of how the illness is coming along!.
Whatever you do, don't overexert yourself!. Don't play sports too soon, or the sickness will last longer!.
Get plenty of rest!Www@Answer-Health@Com

When my son had mono, in high school, he had a raging fever!. The doctor told her that when they have a high fever like that, that it burns itself out faster then when you have a low grade fever!. So depending on what you have, it could be a couple of weeks, or it could be weeks or months!. And, yes, your gf may have it too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
She should get tested even without symptoms present!. Mono is very contagious and also called the kissing disease =)
Make sure you get lot's of rest!Www@Answer-Health@Com
