Answers:
I've had 4 or 5 removed in the past ten years!. Two were fairly large, a cm!. or larger and had been growing for several years!. All were located on my arms, legs and one on my back!. None were located in problematic to treat locations like your lip, eyelid, top of ear or tip of nose!. All were treated with excision followed by a second excision taking extra margins then the area was cauterized!. None ever recurred!. Last basal cell I've had was 3 or 4 years ago!. I have no scars except from one of the larger ones that was located on my upper arm and which now looks like an old vaccination scar!.

The cure rate for simple BCC is very high, above 95%, so if you have one I suggest you have a good dermatologist remove your basal cell cancer and then you can move on with your life and not have to worry about it recurring!. good luckWww@Answer-Health@Com

Basal cell carcinoma is a superficial slowly growing papule or nodule that derives from epidermal basal cells!. Metastasis is rare, but local growth can be highly destructive!. Diagnosis is by biopsy!. Treatment depends on the tumor's characteristics and may involve curettage and electrodesiccation, surgical excision, cryosurgery, or, occasionally, radiation therapy!.
Outlook (Prognosis):
The rate of basal cell skin cancer returning is about 1% with Mohs surgery to up to 10% for other forms of treatment!. Smaller basal cell carcinomas are less likely to come back than larger ones!.
You should follow-up with your doctor as recommended and regularly examine your skin once a month, using a mirror to check hard-to-see places!. Call your doctor if you notice any suspicious skin changes!.
Possible Complications:
Untreated, basal cell cancer can spread to nearby tissues or structures, causing damage!. This is most worrisome around the nose, eyes, and ears!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
