Question: Could i be HIV positive!?
im a virgin!. never been close with a man!. but im studying something in science where we have pathologically based practicals!. there was this experiment we were doin where we had to find out some blood agglutination titre!. so for practice sake we are given blood obtd from hospital rejects(stored hospital blood not rejected patients)!.!.!. anyways this blood is supposed to be free of pathogens!. i accidently drank some VERY diluted blood(we have to use pipettes and i mouth pipetted like aN a$$) I mustv drank like 0!.01 ml and spat it out!. this was 2 yrs ago!. my friend the other day tol me that these small kids were HIV positive becos they had food made by this HIV patient who accidently cut his finger and added some blood into their food(raw foods)!.!.!.!.!. im really freaked out!. how do i ask my parents to get an HIV test!? should i worry!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

The HIV virus only lives in living blood cells, meaning that it needs a living body to host it or the blood has to be fresh out of the infected person's body!. HIV will not survive in dead blood cells!. Although there is no time frame as to how long the HIV virus lives outside the human body it is very unlikely if not pretty much impossible for you (or kids being contaminated via food- sounds like an urban legend) to have been contaminated!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
You accidently drank blood!? umm okay strange!. Now if you got rejected blood, that means there was something wrong with the blood, so yeah get tested and have them put you on Anti HIV drugs!. Call a Dr!. or have your mother call!. When you go to your yearly check up if you still do that then tell them what happened!. You could have something else, How about Hep C!? It is extremely unlikely, you would have had to have micro tears in your mouth *and* the blood would have to be infected!. Theoretically it is possible but would take an unlikely confluence of events!.

No you do not need to worry!. The hospital would not have released any blood product that contained HIV+ to any school!. Usually HIV is not transmitted orally, you would have had to have a cut in your mouth for this to happen!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

oh dear, are u sure you mouth pipetted some biological samples!? I work in a lab too!. I know mouth pipetting doesn't exist for a long time, u sure your school lets you do this!?
If u worry then do the test becoz even if people tell u not to worry u will still worry lol!. do the test and if negative stop worrying!. But your chance is very low!. Because HIV when exposed to the air it died fast and moreever it is diluted and the concentration is also low becoz of the quantity!.!. so well that kinda route of transmission in the raw food is very unusual, regarding the story, i have read about it in email, i don't really believe in it though coz i don think the virus would be able to survive that long and in raw foods!.!.
But would like to advise u not to do this kind of mouth pipetting stunt again!.
