Answers:
With the correct treatment your Mum will last for years too come!.

However our Mum really needs to take care of herself now!. I had a good friend of mine pass away last year from Emphasemia!.!.!. but she smoked and had an awful lot of stress!.

With emphasemia it is more likely to be other organs that prove fatal as the stress on the Heart etc alot stronger than someone with healthy Lungs!.

Please bear in mind also that although your Mum will gradually deteriorate, Dr's want their patients to live we are in a society that prolongs life and she will eventually need a lung transplant!.

Help your mum, allieviate her stress don't smoke around heror let others do so, encourage her to excercise and live a balanced lifestyle!.

Although i mentioned my friend that died i also know a 75 year old man who has had emphasemia for 10 years!.!.!. he gets out of puff sometimes so he takes it easy doing slow walks for excercising, doesn't smoke andhas relax breaks in the day!. He has still got years left in him!.

With the correct treatment and lifestyle your Mum will be fine!

And she will appreciate the support that you will offer!.

I cant say how long she may live but my mum has a disease called COPD which is a combination of emphysema and chronic bronchitis and she was diagnosed with 2 years last summer!. its a horrible stuation to be in and it always will be!. but you need to know that the only thing you can do for her is to keep her company and happy!. its so difficult but you know that you have hope and cling to that as hope is the only thing that will keep you going!. i have none and if i can manage so can you!. its natural to be scared but any other family members can help you through it!. the whole situation has made my dad and i so unbeleviable close - i couldnt manage without him!. please stay strong and keep her happy!. and have hope - its the strongest thing you can cling to!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
