Question: How can you tell the difference from a virus and just you ate something bad!?
My little brother woke up at 4:30 am and threw up!. Then again at 7:30!. He hasn't had anything to eat or drink today!. Does he have the flu or did he just eat something bad!? And what should I give him, I forget is it good to drink a lot of water or not very much!. Thank youWww@Answer-Health@Com

Your little brother obviously came down with something!. It is difficult to say off the bat without more information!. If he ate more than 3-4 hours before he threw up, then there is a better chance that the issue is viral!. This is because typically the stomach is empty in infants 3-4 hours after eating, meaning that throwing up does little to help!. If it bacterial, then he should almost certainly shoot it out the other side too for a couple days!. Vomitting occurs if there are toxins or other irritants in the food he ate!.

Your parents and you should keep a close eye on his temperature and temperament!. If he becomes lethargic and less responsive, you should seek medical attention immediately!.

Drinking fluids after he tosses cookies is a good idea, to help wash that muck out of his throat and mouth!. Especially if he develops diarrhea and stops throwing up, water should be offered regularly!. Small sips are the best option!. If this extends beyond a day, then a product like Pedialyte is a good option for the electrolytes and sugar energy!.

I hope this answers your question!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
