Answers:
HCC (I assume you mean hepatocellular carcinoma) is not the most common lesion in someone with a single, smallish (<10mm) liver nodule, especially if you don't have a risk factor for HCC: alcoholic liver disease, chronic hepatitis B, hepatitis C, etc!.

Depending on your age, gender and general health, this can even be a benign growth like hemangioma or focal nodular hyperplasia!.

It will help if you can describe your general health (do you have cirrhosis or other known liver disease) and the lesion further!. For example, if you had an ultrasound, was the lesion hyperechoic or hypoechoic!? Was there any doppler signal in there!? If you had a CT scan, was it enhanced or not!? Was the lesion hypodense, isodense, or hyperdense!?

The truth is that no one can tell you what you have with 100% certainty over the internet, no matter how smart he/she may sound!. So instead of trusting complete strangers here on Yahoo Answers, you will be better off talking with your doctor!.

Finally, even if this is HCC (like I said, there are many other possibilities, so don't worry yourself sick before the report come out), at 8!.9mm, there are plenty of treatment options including surgical resection, chemo-embolization, and percutaneous ethanol injection, to name a few!.

You will find out soon enough!.

Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There is no way to know what it is until the pathology report comes back from the biopsy ( a doctor has to look at it to figure out what type of tumor it is)!. There are benign tumors that occur in the liver too (like hepatic adenomas), but unfortunately hepatocellular carcinoma is possibility!. Hang in there and try to not freak out too much until you know what it is!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

HCC!.!.!. only the path report can tell, the most common cancer of the liver is actually a met from another tumor!. Regardless these are all good questions but depend on grade and eventual stage so you will need to speak with you physician since he is the only one that can really tell you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
