Removed a wood tick?!


Question: Removed a wood tick!?
I removed a wood tick or my wife helped and it finally cam out by pulling it gently with the fingers, I saved the tick in a jar and noticed its head is still attached ,but one leg is missing , don't know where, but we got the head out , now a little pimple is at the back of my leg where the tick was and its sorta red, is this ok ,its not a couple of red rings like a target, just redish and the little zit of a pimple is still ther but Im putting antiseptic on it ,do you think its going to go away!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

It should be ok, especially since you got it out with the head intact!. Keep watching for the target shaped rings , you don't want lyme disease!. Should be ok though, I think deer ticks are more liable to carry disease!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, it is fine unless you start to see infection, but you need to watch for symptoms of lyme disease, which is the primary risk with tick bites!. If you have any symptoms that emerge, see your DR and make sure you tell them you were bitten!. Lyme disease is treatable with antibiotics!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
