Question: Do you have epilepsy personally and what are your warning signs before the seizures!?
I have had epilepsy for 6 years!. I was 45 when the seizures started!. I was at work!. I would like to know from other people who are epileptic!.
Mainly, how much warning time you have prior to the seizure!. Aso, what type of warning you have if any!. I get a very distant feeling and can't comprehend what is going on around me!. That lasts about a minute or less!. I've been told by my husband and daughter that the seizure lasts about 1 minute, some times 90 seconds!.
Afterwards, I gasp for air then sleep for a half hour or more!.

I had epilepsy and what you call the " distant feeling " is in medical terms called an aura!.
I would have the auras also before I had a seizure and yes, they are something!. If you are listening to the radio and having an aura it seems what is being played on the radio makes you think that is what's causing the seizure !. I would also be working and be in the warehouse lifting cases of different things and have an aura before the seizure ,and think what I had a hold of was causing the seizure!.
When you take a seizure you get a lot more stronger and drain your bodies energy ,that is why you get tired after a seizure!. I would take a seizure then be really tired afterwards also so I know what you are going through!.

I personally do not have seizures, but a coworker i sit by and my mom have them!. my mom has no warning signs and just falls into them!.!.!. she has gotten seriously hurt numerous times (car accidents and breaking bones in her face when she falls) My coworker can feel them coming on most of the time!. She will write me a note or just try and say my name!.!.!. I just need to see her face and I can tell when she is going into one!. Her eye twitches and she gets very white!. She says that her feelings are the twitch in her eye and she said everything gets very quiet!. My mom's started when she was older too and never had them as a child!. She is on medication and hasn't had one in a year and 1/2 (knock on wood!!!)Www@Answer-Health@Com
I do have epilepsy and it can really ruin your life!. Medication helps me a lot!.
The signs for me are unease and a slight shiver inside!. I sit on my hands to try and quell the feeling!. If it does go the whole way, then, like you, I simply fall away and remember only regaining consciousness!. I have pain in the neck and feel hot/cold and tired!.
