Question: Skin cancer, is it worse behind the sore!?
When you have a skin sore, and say it is cancerous, is it whats behind the sore, or the part you can't see thats worse, or is it only the sore thats cancerous!?

It depends!. Usually, the sore itself is part of the cancer but that doesn't mean that the cancer only extends as far as the sore!. Certain skin cancers, like melanoma, can spread systemically so the cancer can be other places besides what you see!. Most other forms of skin cancer tend to stay in one area!. The cancerous tissue may extend a little farther than just the surface where the sore is so your doctor will probably removal a little extra tissue to make sure he has definitely gotten it all!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Which type of skin cancer are you talking about!? That would make a difference !. !. as there are some types that are easily treated just by removing them !. !. and than there is melanoma which is an aggressive and lethal type of skin cancer!. When melanoma becomes metastatic it means that the malignant cancer cells have entered the blood stream or lymph system and the cancer has the ability to spread all through the body!. So !. !. your answer is that if this is melanoma !. !. stage IV that the malignant skin cancer cells can be in the lungs, brain, liver or any other organ within the body !. !.it is no longer limited to just being on the skin!. All metastatic disease can do this !. !. travel to distant locations in the body and start up a cancer in a new location !. !. anywhere!.

hi, i have had skin cancer and melanoma, i had nothing that was sore!. it all depends on how quick you detect it!. they operate to fine out which one it is and how deep it has gone!. if it is merlignant a second op is need to see if it can all be cut out!. what you see is nothing to what is going on inside!. you must not mess about get checked straight away, i hope i have been of some help, it is not a nice thing to have or to go through!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
