Answers:
The exact location is not actually in the area of the family jewels, if that's your concern!. It's in the femoral artery, which is located just inside where you can feel your hip socket!. You will need to be shaven in the area, yes- but some places will agree to letting you do the job yourself at home if you prefer!. You will not be left hanging out in the wind, no matter what happens!. Even if a technician or nurse shaves you, you will always be covered as much as is possible with a towel or drape, and you can move things around if needed yourself!. In some hospitals there are males who can do the prep, sometimes it's not possible though, and a female will do it!. But at no time will you be uncovered completely!. Once the area is shaved and cleaned, they will place a surgical drape over you!. That has a peephole, about two inches round, which just lets the area where the catheter is inserted to be seen!. There are also usually blankets over your legs, and you wear a regular hospital gown!. In fact, everything except that little round hole will be covered!. No nurse, no medical personnel will ever do anything to compromise your sense of modesty if it's at all avoidable!. Just keep in mind, that although it's highly personal to you, they don't think of things that way at all!. When I prep a patient for this type procedure, I can honestly tell you I never really look at anything except the skin I'm shaving or scrubbing!. I know logically where it all is, but it's just not something I give much mind to!. And I could never identify a patient afterwards, connecting parts to any particular face!. During the procedure, there are only a few people in the room with you!. There will be your doctor, and one or two nurses, probably an anesthesiologist- though an nurse anesthetist is usual!. There will not be a stream of traffic coming through, it's a sterile procedure after all!. Afterwards, you will have a sandbag or weight placed on the catheter site for a few hours to prevent bleeding and bruising!. A nurse will need to check the site periodically, but you will remain drapped except for the slight elevation of the drape or towel so she can see the site!. Everything else will be covered, I assure you!. Preservation of the patients modesty and dignity are very important to everyone, so you need not worry about being left exposed at any time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

the catheter goes into your femoral artery in the bend between your abdomen and leg!. you will be covered by a towel while they shave the area and clean it to make it sterile!. there are few people in the room usually while this is done and some facilities provide a same sex person to do it but not always!. this procedure will confirm what the MRI has shown and give a percentage of blockage to the artery and whether or not surgery is needed to clean out the carotid artery!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
