Answers:
Well, HIV doesn't cause cancer per se though there have definitely been cancers that have been linked to exposure to certain viruses!. Cervical cancer is one which is what the new HPV vaccine, Gardisil, is based on!.

Your body has an specialized cells called Killer T cells as part of its immune system!. Their job is to try and clean up situations where a cell may mutate and start replicating out of control, like cancer!. HIV impairs the immune system in part by thwarting the production of Tcells!. So what happens is as your immune system fails, your body is less and less likely to be able to stop a cancer from progressing but it is not the cause of the cancers!. Sort of like standing outside in the dead of winter-if I take your coat away from you I won't have caused you to get frostbite (the cold did that) but I would have kept you from staving it off!. Certain cancers are more common in patients that have HIV, cancers like Kaposi's sarcoma and lymphoma!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

AIDS is a disease which causes destruction of the immune system!. The immune system functions to protect the body against bacteria and viruses in addition to controlling the growth of tumors which may become cancerous!. When the immune system is not functioning there is no control over other cells which can then begin to proliferate and grow into a tumor which can be cancerous!. There are certain cancers that are seen more commonly in patients with AIDS such as lymphoma which is a cancer related to the immune system!. AIDS doesn't necessarily cause cancer rather it leaves a person more susceptible to it due to their immune deficiency!. Other immune deficiencies like transplant recipients and chemotherapy recipients are at a similar risk of developing cancer due to immune deficiency!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

AIDS doesn't cause cancer but there is definately a connection between HIV and cancer!. The connection between HIV/AIDS and certain cancers is not completely understood, but the link likely depends on a weakened immune system!. I've inlcuded two links at the bottom of this article for reference!. You can also search aids and cancer on the internet and find lots of reliable sources info!.
People with HIV/AIDS are at high risk for developing certain cancers, such as Kaposi's sarcoma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and cervical cancer (see below)!. In people with HIV, these cancers are often referred to as "AIDS-defining conditions," meaning the presence of one of these cancers in a person with HIV can signify the development of AIDS!.

One reason why cancer seems to be more common among people with HIV is that HIV and other viruses work together!. Having HIV and a weakened immune system makes it easier for other viruses to stay alive in your body!. HIV and these other viruses work together to help cancer cells start growing!. Once cancer starts in people with weakened immune systems, it grows faster than in healthy people!. Some of these viruses are:
? Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C
? Herpes
? Human papillomavirus (HPV)
? Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV)

Yes, cancer is when a cell grows without control and eventually spreads in the body!. And Yes, AIDS does result from a previous HIV virus infection!. Some cancers are known to be caused by a virus which get into the main part of a cell (nucleus) and causes the cells to grow out of control, BUT HIV virus infection and AIDS are NOT the cause of any known cancers!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It doesn't and cancer is when a cell mutates uncontrolably!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It doesnt!.

And you can only get AIDS if you have HIV!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
