How can I help my friend with Type I Diabetes?!

Question: How can I help my friend with Type I Diabetes!?
I have a friend who was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes two years ago, when he was 26 years old!. He works as a machinist and has found it increasingly difficult to stay at a job that requires him to work 80 hours a week on a regular basis!.

He really wants to quit his job and become a personal trainer!. The only problem is, he can't find a job in that field that has immediate health insurance coverage!. Every place he's interviewed makes you wait 3-6 months for insurance, and when his insulin and supplies costs $2000 a month it's just not possible for him to carry the cost on his own!.

He is the picture of good health, and the poster child for living successfully with diabetes!. Is there any government resource or association that will cover the cost of his insulin and supplies while he changes careers!? We live in Illinois!. Thanks in advance!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
