Is there a difference between being paralysed from the waist up or from the neck down!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Generally when they speak of some one being paralyzed from the waist up it means just that!. No hip leg or foot involvement!.!. From the neck down can mean all extremity involvement or it can also mean some of the organs are involved!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Paralysis depends on the level at which your spinal cord is injured!. For example, if you have a cervical spine injury you would be paralyzed from that level (neck) down!. If you have a thoracic level injury it would be more from the chest down!. If your arms and legs are paralyzed it is termed quadriplegia!. If you are paralyzed in the legs, it is paraplegia!. Sometimes people can have an incomplete paralysis and still have some very minimal movement in their extremities!. So for your answer, paralysis is usually termed from the level of injury and as either a paraplegia or quadraplegia!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
