Question: Is it possible for a person to be born without a sense of smell!?
People can be born blind or deaf, but unable to smell!?
There is a person at my office with terrible body odor!. She says that she was born without a sense of smell (so she can't smell herself)!. I have never heard of this before and I wondered if anyone else had!? Or can someone with any medical knowledge tell me if this is possible!?
I'm not asking just purely out of curiosity!. My boss is making me sit her down and talk to her!. If this is true, I may be able to defend her!. The thing is that she has been confronted before and she has not gotten any better!. She still comes to work dirty and smelly!. She could be fired!. Fired for b/o!!?

Yes, it is possible, But I believe that your senses develop in your life time!.!.!. But in this case, there are people who Thu years of neglect in hygiene, are immune to their own odor!.!.!. In case there is a person at my work place who was the same way!.!.!. They were told under no certain terms to bath!.!.!. It took awhile, yet today this person is150% better in their personal hygiene!.!.!. I do believe this person might need help in understand about personal prideWww@Answer-Health@Com
yes you can be born without a sense of smell , but it's not an excuse to nopt take a shower just because she can't smell it , it does not mean others can't!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is possible to be born without sense of smell!.!. just like you can be born deaf or blind!. It's more rare though!.
There are even people who are born without the ability to feel pain - that one's crazy there!.
Sorry you have to be around someone who smells!. Here's the hang up though!.!. even if she can't smell she should still be showering every day - so I don't know why she smells!.!. unless she is one of those people that has a fish smell coming out of her pores!.
