My friend's 5 month old baby has been diagnosed with severe brain damage....!
Question: My friend's 5 month old baby has been diagnosed with severe brain damage!.!.!.!.!.!?
he was perfectly healthy, then last Wednesday she woke up to find he was not responding to her!. Baby has been in intensive care for the last week and has had zillions of tests!. He had a few seizures and he's been sedated most of the time!. He has just had another MRI scan and they've told her he has severe brain damage!. I am so devastated, she's a single mother, has no family here (they live in UK and she's in Australia)!. What can I do to help her - has anyone been in this terrible situation!? All I want to do is hug her and cry with her!. Will the baby survive!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just be with her!. Make sure she has food in the house, and someone to drive her to and from the hospital!. If there are any chores to be done at home, offer to do those (like letting the dog out, babysitting any other children, etc!.)!. If she belongs to a church, see if anybody there can help her!.
Do your best to take care of your own feelings without making her take care of you, too!. Be available to listen or just sit with her!. When her life is falling apart, she may not be able to do the daily things, like pick up groceries or do the laundry, so offer to do that for her, too!.
Think about what your mom might do for you in the same situation, and try to do that for her!.
She may not know what you can do to help, so just go with her and sit in the waiting room in intensive care and be there for her!.

We can only hope that the baby will not survive if it is unresponsive!. Medical care for people like this is horrible and the pain they are in is horrible because of other diseases that start up!.
Its really horrible that this happened 5 months into life!. I would be balling my head off if it were my child!. I will keep her in my prayers!. I just wish I hadnt of read this right before bed!. Im already sick to my stomach!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have no knowledge of what to do about this situation, I just wanted to say you will all be in prayers and I hope this situation improves!.

severe brain damage can mean several things!.Most likely though in a baby!.!.tests to reveal the reason are the best course at this point!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
i cant give u a for sure answer if the baby will survive!.!.!. becuase if he "survives" he might just be a vegatable!.!. (lifeless body) and thats no way to live!.!. i hope GOD looks down on ur friend and her little blessingWww@Answer-Health@Com
