What do you do when you have NO support?!

Question: What do you do when you have NO support!?
I'm a diabetic with numbers that are always above 500!. I've lost my 4th job to this disease as I have many sick days due to these high numbers!. I'm a brittle diabetic and can not find control for the past 3 to 4 years!. I'm not able to tell my husband the reason as to why I've lost this job (I told him I was laid off), he doesn't understand and doesn't see to want to understand!. I'm now more dependent on him due to the need of his insurance!. Please can anyone relate to this!? or have any answers for me!. It's ironic that I have his name as my ID put I love him dearly as he's a good man except for this (but this is my life) I'm a diabetic and it controls my whole life!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Just like Patti Labelle said, " I have diabetes but diabetes does not have me" You need to seriously, go to a support group!. Better yet, if you go to your local hospital I'm sure they can direct you to a diabetes center in your area!. Millions die of diabetes related deaths each year!. I have Type 2 and it's a fight for me EVERYDAY! I have 2 kids & they are my life so I make it a priority to keep my blood sugars DOWN! I was exactly like you, and still am somedays!. I didn't take it too seriously, but you have to! Don't get down about it!. That's the worst you can do is WALLOW!. Think about something that makes you really happy!. You just need to not focus on the negatives of diabetes & get out there and check your blood!. Once you get in the habit of it, it's not that bad! I was always sick in the beginning, but I was sick of being sick so I did something about it!. Don't worry about your husband, even though he's not that supportive!. My hubby isn't that supportive either!. Our doctor told me that it's like a smoker in the house!. If one smoker is trying to quit while the other person is still smoking around them, it gets hard!. My husband still brings all his sweet treats in the house, but I've learned to abstain!. You just have replace the bad with the good & try, try, try!. I know I'm trying to make it sound easy, but it really is if you PUT YOUR MIND TO IT! Anything is possible! Email me if you still have a hard time!. I can help you get some support!. And in the meantime, don't let it get you down! Just do something! Start small & be consistent!. (i!.e givin up candy, soda pop, or anything starchy) One step at a time!. Good luck & I hope that you please get some support!. You can't do it on your own!. People are willing to help if you are willing to help a little yourself! :))))) I care!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Please let me know if you would be interested in the program!. I would love to help you out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

What do you eat!?
How much insulin do you take!?
Pump!?
What is your situation!? I would need more information to give you any answers!. You can do it though, but it will take some work, probably some changes in your lifestyle as well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think you need to work on more clear communication with your husband!. You keep things from him and you think he doesn't want to understand!.!.!. You need to TALK!. Make some notes and sit down and tell him how big this is and how it affects your life!. Do you think he will leave or this will somehow change your relationship!? Right now you are just assuming this!. Maybe he will surprise you if you have a heart to heart talk with him!.!.!. what do you have to lose!?

He really needs to be helping you, that's what marriage is all about!. You would do it for him, right!? Tell him he needs to do it for you!. Take him to your doctor with you and have diabetes explained to him if need be!. Get some handouts to use when you talk to him and then leave them laying around so he can read them when you're not around!. (you could print some off the American Diabetes Association site too!.)

You could also find a support group or at least a message board/forum about diabetes and get some other feedback about this!.!.!. it's also possible some serious counseling might also be in order!. See if your insurance will cover it!?

Have you switched doctors to see if you can get a different opinion as to how to treat your diabetes!? Seen a nutritionist!.!.!. all that stuff!?

Best wishes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
