Endlessly recurring basal cell carcinoma on my face!?!
Question: Endlessly recurring basal cell carcinoma on my face!!?
As I said in a previous question I have a basal cell carcinoma on my face which has been cut out twice!!Has anyone had a similar experience as I have been told that it is quite common!?!? I cant help but notice that not many people have scarred faces though!I am getting tired of having this same surgery every 18 months!.I have all the follow up appointments and get told that it has all gone but clearly it has not!
Am I just unlucky!? I am 40 this year and all the doctors say that is a bit young for this problem!.There is also no family history!
Any serious answers would be appreciated!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had the same problem as yourself, it took 4 attempts at removal, this was also in my early 40s so try not to worry!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
It is very common for BCCs to recur!. 90% are due to sun damage, with the other 1% the cause is unknown!. You may need to have what is known as a wider excision and either a skin graft or a rotation flap cover, the scarring is a bit more extensive and is only done as a last resort on facial skin cancers!.
Make sure you wear a high factor (50+) sunscreen on areas exposed to the sun and keep covered up as much as possible!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is the most 'benign' kind of epidermal carcinoma you could have ( basal cell ) , with the best prognosis ,don;t worry, you' ll do fine ,despite the local ( and only, in this kind ) recurrence!.
No family history is an additional indicator of good prognosis !.Www@Answer-Health@Com
