In dialysis, basically the blood is withdrawn, cleansed, and then reinfused!. This is very hard on a person and it is not uncommon for them to feel totally wiped out and to sleep!. Does she arouse and talk to you when you try to wake her!? If so, just keep a check on her!. She will probably be fine!. If you can't wake her by touch, talk, or gentle shaking, then you should call 911!. If she is a diabetic, check her blood sugar and make sure it is ok!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

That is common with alot of Dialysis patients, sometimes the treatments just absolutely wear them out!. Another thing they could be pulling to much fluid off of the patient!. Every patient has a target weight set for them and they have to be weighed before every treatment to see how much fluid needs to be taken off!. It is important that she watches her fluid intake and not go over what she is aloud, sometimes when they over do it with the fluids it makes it harder on them because they have to pull more fluid off!. Sometimes the patient can not handle what needs to be taken off and if they can not pull off what they need to for their target weight the patient leaves with fluid left on them and that makes it hard on the patient!. It means they are allowed less fluids when they go home!. When they have to much fluid it makes them feel bad and sometimes have a hard time breathing from the x-tra fluid!. The patients sometimes will not listen and come in with way to much weight on them and when you pull it off they can't handle it!. It makes them sick and their B/P drops!. Family can discuss with the Dr!. or even head nurse @ the Dialysis Clinic to find out what the target weight is how much fluid intake is alound!. They should give you some literature on the procedure and what to expect!. Some patients sleep like that after every treament, it is normal for some!. You have to understand that their body is being put through alot on that machine it not only takes off fluid but gets rid of the poisons that their kidneys can't get rid of and it cleans their blood!. If you or your family have concerns talk to the Dr!. or one of the nurses about it!. They should be able to answer yor questions!.
Good Luck and don't worry!Www@Answer-Health@Com
