Turner's Syndrome and horsehoe kidney?!
Question: Turner's Syndrome and horsehoe kidney!?
after going from Dr!. visit to Dr!. visit and getting sonograms I am at a loss for answers!. It seems that my doctors are more concerned with "covering their a$$" and gettinig kickbacks from referrels to tell me what is going on with my baby!.
I few weeks ago we were told it was "possible" our baby girl had a horsehoe kidney!. We went for a repeat sono yesterday and they told us again that it MIGHT be a horseshoe ( this was a specialist) They then offered me an amnio, a genetic counselor and a fetal echocardiogram! They are still not sure if her kidney is even abnormal! I was in tears!. Regardless of what my daughter's kidney looks like or functions like, she is loved and adored by us!. No one is giving us answers!. They just keep sending us for more tests! Then they tell us she MAY have turners syndrome IF she has a horseshoe kidney!.
All my screenings came back normal for downs, spina bifida and trisomy!. I guess my question is why would they be offerintg all these tests!? I am so upsetWww@Answer-Health@Com

I am so sorry that you are having this problem!. Apparently when you had an ultrasound, they felt that the kidney looked abnormal!. Basically, they are letting you know up front that there is a chance that your child will be born with Turner Syndrome!. When a "horseshoe" kidney is seen or suspected, there is a high probability that the child will be born with Turner Syndrome!. Physicians feel that they need to alert you to these things because some people would actually abort a child if they thought there would be something wrong with it!. Others accept and love their child no matter what!. I would speak with a genetic counselor first and then go from there!. No matter what, God is in control!. Love your child and let it be is my advice!. All of this may be for nothing!. Your child could be born absolutely normal!. The only sure way they will be able to tell you is through amniocentesis!.
