Question: If my identical twin sister caught a venerial disease, will I be at risk to catch one too!?
My sister and I are identical twins, meaning identical DNA!. We are in our early 20s!.

Neither of us had the Gardisil vaccine!. She was diagnosed with HPV and it is the cancer causing type!. After I heard about this, I immediately ran out to my doctor and got the vaccine!.

My question, TQC - since we are identical twins, does this mean that I will get HPV too!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Every woman is at risk if you are exposed!. Your sex life is what will determine if you get the human papilloma virus (herpes)- multiple partners, sex at an early age, and partners carrying the virus are risk factors!.
It's good that you got the vaccine, but it doesn't cover every virus!. You could still contract HPV if exposed, so be careful!.

I have a friend that was diagnosed with cervical cancer in her 40's, which led to her slow, painful death!. She was unknowingly exposed to, and contracted HPV either before she married at age 19, or more likely from her husband of 35 years!. Either he had it before, or could have gotten it along the way!.
Either way, she never knew it, but it was there brewing all those years!.

It's terrible, and I'm so sorry that your sister has this, but at least people are more aware of it nowadays!. She should always make sure to get her pap smears, since it can lead to cervical cancer, and early treatment is crucial!.

Take care, use protection, limiting your partners, and choose them wisely!. Remember, you are sleeping with everyone they have slept with too!.

Hope it helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, HPV is not spread that way!. So unless you and your sister were fulfilling some "twin fantasy" for the guy who gave it to her, or any other kind of sister man sharing, there is no reason to be concerned that you are at risk!. It's a sexually transmitted disease, not a sibling transmitted disease!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Not unless you either sleep with the same guy she did, or have unprotected sex with someone else who carries it!.

Use a condom Every Time!. Many people think "Oh, it's rare, it won't happen to me!." Your sister is proof that it can and will happen to you if you don't protect yourself!.

Good luck to you and your sister!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Only if you and your twin have the same sex partner or if you sleep with someone infected!. SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED means just that!. You have to have sex with an infected person to contract!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, low genetic risk!.

HPV is an STD that many unsuspecting girls get!. You should protect yourself!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Not unless you have sex with your sister - or an infected male!. Makes you wish you'd insisted on condom use, doesn't it!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
