High Blood Pressure while sick?!

Question: High Blood Pressure while sick!?
I just graduated from college (22 yrs old) and somewhere in the mix got sick with the flu and cough!. My parents both have high blood pressure but take measures to keep it low!. I figure someday I will have to worry about it too due to genetics but not now!. Today, I decided to check my own blood pressure and I was a bit shocked at the result - I scored a 144 /70!. Now, I do eat somewhat healthy most of the time and I used to excercise at least 3 days a week but recently stopped due to school winding down (5ft 10in, 180lbs, average muscular build)!. I'm wondering, is this something to be concerned about!? I thought maybe because I'm sick and also been eating soup a lot (an hour and a half before taking the test) that it might have thrown off the measurement!. Also, since I'm sick, I've been lying around for the last 2 days!. Thanks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Being sick, esp!. having a fever, can make your heart beat faster, and can cause your blood pressure to rise!. So your blood pressure may not normally be 144/70, but could still be higher than it should be!.!.!.definitely keep an eye on it, and if it's still high after you get well, you should go see your health care provider!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you need to see a doctor anything above 130 is considered high, soup would not have any effect on your blood pressureWww@Answer-Health@Com
