Question: Why don't people asking questions about cancer here go to a doctor!?
There is a lot of good will here but not too much outside of personal experience!. Wouldn't a doctor be safer!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

That's a great question!. The answer is because people are scared!. They are scared that they might have cancer, they are scared that they don't have cancer and they will be thought of as a fool, they are scared because even if it isn't cancer!.!.!. then what is it!? They are scared because they have seen others get cancer and suffer and die!. They want to put their toes in the water before they jump in!. They want to know that their question isn't stupid!. When they get an answer that tells them that they should get it checked out they may-be have a better chance of following through instead of like so many trajic cases that put it off and put it off until it was way too late to do anything about it!. So!.!.!.!.aren't you glad that you can be part of may-be, just may-be saving somebodies life because you shared your thoughts with them!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
A lot of people have no insurance and cant really afford a doctor!.
For me personally, I knew something was wrong with me before I was diagnosed!. But going to a doc for them to tell me that I was anemic and needed to take iron vitamins just wasnt worth the 700 it was going to cost!. At 21, with no credit and barely making my bills, I just didnt have the money!.
But I finally hit a breaking point where I had to go to the doctor no matter the cost!. And unfortuanatly, that is what happens with most people who dont have insurance - they put off going until they have no other choice because they dont have the money!. And then what was a little problem is a huge problem!.
Also, unfortunatly, there are many doctors who do not fully explain the needed details to the patient!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think most of them need a good push or kick in the seat to get themselves out of their slump and go to a doctor!. Too !. !. there have been some questions that indicate they have already been to a doctor but are doubting what they've been told !. !. and with good reason !. !. regular doctors are just not that familiar with malignant tumors and cancer and frequently misdiagnose the disease as something else !. !. wasting precious, precious time!.
Sometimes people need to be reminded that it is okay to doubt a doctor and seek out a second or even third opinion!.
Not everyone who asks questions here is looking for a 'diagnosis' !. !. some are just looking for reassurance and some are just curious!.
The Internet has changed the relationship between patient and doctor !. !. especially cancer patients and oncologists !. !. and for the better!. Asking questions here is a good place to start looking and doing your own research about cancer and your own body!. Patients exchanging information with each other and than passing it along to their own doctors !. !. has changed the landscape !. !. I think you would be surprised to learn how online cancer support groups pass along valuable information that their own doctor may not have learned about!.

Maybe a doctor would be safer but people with experience can help guide a person to whether a person should see a doctor or not!. Do you go to the doctor at every little sneeze or sniffle thinking you might have cancer!? Do you run to the doctor when you cut your knee!? No so don't think that those who are asking are otherwise intelligent!. You don't know their situation and maybe this is what they need before making the trek!. People in our lousy health system and who are on no insurance or Medicaid and lousy insurance often get MINIMAL CARE!. That means no early cancer diagnosis for them! No expensive early cancer detection programs for them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Probably because they don't want it confirmed which is what a Dr!. would do!. No one wants to hear bad news!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
