Hi- I am 37 and have the same problem!. You are likely having heart palpitations!. These are called PVC (premature ventricular contractions) or PAC (premature atrial contractions)!. In my case, I get both!. This is an arrhythmia and what happens is that your heart gives a small beat early and then there is a longer than normal pause and then the next beat is really strong because the heart fills up with more blood than normal!. This causes heart palpitations (which means that you can feel the beat)!. In most cases (including mine), these are considered harmless but it is important for you to see a doctor to run tests to determine whether or not these indicate a problem!. They put me on what is called a Holter monitor (you wear it at home and it records your heart beats), they did an EKG and they did a stress echocardiogram which is an ultrasound of your heart after walking on a treadmill!. These tests help them determine if these are harmless palpitations or something more serious!. As I said, in most cases it is not a problem, but you should get testing just to be sure!.
Also, a lot of things can make palpitations worse like caffiene, stimulant medications, decongestent medications, alcohol, nicoteine and stress!.
Good luck and try not to worry!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well the frist person to answer the question explained it well!. It sounds like you have heart palpitations!. Mostly they are completely harmless, but sometimes there can be another reason behind it (for me it was hyperthyroidism)!. But your probly fine, just tell your doctor about it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
