Question: Can someone tell me how to deal with hypothyroidism!?
i have it and i take meds for it but want to know if any one else out there knows about any support groups!? dus anyone have it!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism and have started on a very low dose of Levothyroxine!. I will have to have frequent blood tests until I am on the correct dosage, and then have a blood test every 6 months to a year thereafter!. It is a very common condition and probably hundreds of thousands of people have it and don't know it!. The thyroid stops producing enough hormones for various reasons, but it is mostly caused by the aging process!. Once diagnosed, medication will be necessary for the rest of your life to prevent depression, irritability, brittle nails, hair loss, weight gain, inability to lose weight, and the other symptoms of the hormone deficiency!. But many people go untreated!. Hypothryroidism is not life-threatening!. In comparison, it is more or less the same as women taking hormone replacement therapy after menopause!. I am not aware of any support groups, and am not really sure why you would need one!.
