Blood is normally pumped from the right side of the heart to the lungs where fresh oxygen is obtained and sent back to the left side of the heart to be distributed to the rest of the body!. Infection can cause increased resistance in the flow of blood to the lung, or can deposit protein or other material in the lung open spaces (alveoli) making it much harder for the right side of the heart which can then abnormally enlarge or fail to pump adequately!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
There are two places in the body the lungs need to oxygenate before anything else: The brain and the heart!. Other organs can shut down and the body still lives, for a while!. If the heart muscles don't recieve enough oxygen, they die, and each part that dies further weakens the heart!.
