My wife (25 years) has blood in his nasal mucus?!

Question: My wife (25 years) has blood in his nasal mucus!?
My wife is just getting over an cold and couple of weeks back she had blood in her mucus, it was not dripping but just stuck in the mucus!. We went to doctor and he took X-ray of her lungs and said that she does not have any problem!. Today also she noticed some blood in her mucus!. It's not a much, and it's not blood dripping from her nostrils!. I know that as adults we sometimes get this during a cold or when the heat is on too high!. Is this a cause for concern!? My wife is worried so I am hoping to get a faster answer on here!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Since the chest x-ray does not show anything, you can rule out pneumonia!. Nosebleeds are quite common because thin blood vessels are found just below the surface of the mucosal lining!. When they break, you get a slight nosebleed!.

I would not worry too much as she is still very young!. For people in their middle age, regular nosebleed can indicate nasopharyngeal cancer!.

She is dried out and the blood is from cracks in the sinuses!. Have her get a saline spray and use it up her nose before bed!. People in this country are way to preoccupied with extraneous health issues!. That's why health care is so expensive-we do too much worrying because of all the publicity about prescription and otc drugs!. The public has been programmed to go to the doctor for almost any trivial thing-that's how they make money!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It doesn't take much to temporarily damage the fragile blood vessels in the lining of the nose!. Sometimes, a couple of good nose blows will do it!. The blood vessels are tiny but just beneath the mucous membrane inside the nose and therefore will bleed after little or no contact, or dry air affecting the membrane!. Don't stress, she will be fine in a couple of days!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If she's getting over a cold and this hasn't been frequent!. There's no reason to see a doctor or have any tests!. If u have a little blood in ur mucus after getting over a cold that doesnt mean much at all!. Dryness could be a cause, Since getting over a cold makes ur nose dry!. If this happens again, u could get tests for sinus infection!.!. etc!. Don't be worried, and get rest!.
