I'm wearing a holter heart monitor right now, what can it diagnose?!

I am a registered nurse and worked also as ECG/EKG Technician and I also hook holter monitor!.!.!. ECG and Holter monitor are the same it records the electrical activity of your heart!.!.!. Holter records for 24 hours and you can do all of your normal activities except shower!.!.!. ECG is done while you are resting!.!.!. There is another test includes ECG is stress test!.!.!. It records while you are running in a tread mill and stops when you didn't able to run anymore or you feel something like dizziness etch!.!.!. It records your stamina and resistance!.!.!. Holter can diagnose tachycardia or fast heart beat, bradychardia or low heart beat, arryhtmias or irregular heart beat!.!.!. Also myocardial infarction, atrial fibrillation and others!.!.!. While in a monitor you should record your activity, the time and if their is a symptom you experience while your doing that activity so they can trace the exact kind of heart problem you experience!.!.!. Yes, it is uncomfortable most of my patients get irritated about the tapes, the wires, or even the monitor which looks like they carry a bomb!.!.!. But it takes only 24 hours which saves your 50 years more life!.!.!. Just try to enjoy it like Ipod or something like it is a new a gadget!.!.!. Good Luck!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am sure you have heard of an EKG!? It is a tracing that records the electrical activity in your heart!. A holtor monitor is a device that monitors that acitivity for a set amount of time!. If your were not instructed to do so, you should keep a journal of any abnormal feelings you have, what kind of feelings, the time they start and the time they stop!. It can diagnose anything that changes the electrical activity of your heart!. Supraventricular tachycardia, Premature ventricular contractions, things that can be symptoms of actual heart contditions!. The forms of the waves seen by the doctors can also tell them what part of your heart is affected and what might be causing it!. Be aware that there is no one actually monitoring your heart while you are wearing the device, that information will be downloaded onto a computer and read later!. Complicated information, but I hope it helps a little!. Try not to worry too much!. If your doctor didn't feel like you were safe enough to be home, he would have kept you in the hospital!.

A Holter monitor detects any abnormal heart rhythm!. If your heart starts skipping beats, gets too fast, too slow, or begins beating in a different rhythm all together the monitor can pick it up!. well I have no idea what yours is!. Im 15 and had to have one on the night I was trying on prom dresses :'(

I found out I have tachycardia (but now I have other things to that are much more severe)

Its just a reallyy long EKG that lasts for the day!. The metal tab in it irritated my skin and I had a rash on the one they put on my chest that didnt go away for a long time!. And sleeping in it was the worst, they one on my chest kept popping up and it was really painfull!.

this doctor place a holter monitor on to your body with lot of wires patched to your chest reason is to diagnose what abnormal heart rhytm that your heart producing ,this way the doctor can plan your treament whether you need some procedure or just on medication or nothing , depends on what they see on holter monitor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
