I looked into counseling for STDS for the community where I live, but when I thought about it, 9 out of 10 people who counsel people are the ones with no experience of actually having a problem!. I never had a STD although I've done extensive amount of research on everything including HIV/AIDS, I think to myself, why should it really be my concern to get the word out when there are people with STDS infecting people intentionally with no remorse for the hell out of it!. There are some sick people in the world and almost everyone who had gotten HIV got it from a partner who was unfaithful or someone who knew they had it and infected their partner/victim!. I lost all respect and it makes it hard to trust people!. Instead of infecting people on purpose, those people should be the ones counseling others! Thats my opinion!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Absolutely, I do not see why not!. They may not have experienced HIV and all the bad that comes with it themselves!.!.!.but that does not mean a person cannot become thoroughly educated on the topic!.

Lots of oncologists never have had/get cancer!. Lots of psychiatrists don't suffer from mental illness!. Doesn't make them any less qualified!.

As long as the person doing the counseling knows exactly what an HIV patient is dealing with and how to help them cope, I don't see why they shouldn't be 'allowed' to help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well if you think about it - you probably want health professionals such as Doctors, psychologists, and social workers who have training to counsel people with HIV !. The status of these counselors is not relevant!. My doctor doesn't have to have a broken arm to put mine in a cast!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Should Judges be allowed to give sentences to prisoners if they themselves have not spent time in gaol!?

While personal experience can be helpful in some circumstances, conselors are trained to deal with situations they have not been in themselves!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

hey! i guess people who do not have HIV can counsel people with HIV!. Maybe the person with no HIV has a relative who has and sympathize with!. People who are counseling people who have HIV definitely is concerned of those who have!Www@Answer-Health@Com

nope!. How can I say its going to be ok with AIDS when I don't have it to begin with!. Can a Walmart cashier council soldiers how to be soldiers!? Well sure, but that would be one hell of a mess!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would say sure, as long as they are somehow qualified!.

And anyway, it would be illegal to disqualify someone from a job because they don't have a deadly diesease!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I know alot of people who are very good counselers who do not have HIV!. My boyfriend died of HIV and I would be a great person to counsel!. Most drug counselers are not reformed addicts!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
