Can you get gout in the ankle?!

Question: Can you get gout in the ankle!?
Answers:
Yes, any extremity joint is possible for gout!. I've had it in fingers, wrist, ankle and toes!.

Gout is a condition caused by too much Uric Acid in the system which the body cannot easily assimilate!. The acid collects in joints (usually the extremities, but any joint is possible if the acid gets bad enough) it will then crystallize!. These crystals are razor sharp, and the gentle movement of the joint causes the crystals to wreak havoc on the nerves and joint and surrounding tissues!. Once the crystals have occurred, it's important to get rid of them as quickly as possible!.

Your Dr may prescribe medication to keep the gout from occurring!. They may also prescribe a diet low in foods high in purines as purines will cause more uric acid in the body!. (do a google search on GOUT DIET and you will find many lists of these foods!.) I personally have taken a more pro-active homeopathic approach which has helped myself and many friends who also have gout!.

For attacks (or even when I suspect the onset of an attack), I take Black Cherry Juice in Distilled water!. Cherry Juice is well known for counteracting gout!. Distilled water is known by health experts as "Hungry Water" because it will more readily carry away impurities helping to flush out the system quicker!. (I will drink a half gallon of this mixture in a day over a two day period!. Other friends take the Cherry Juice Concentrate pure, on a regular basis!.)

I also heartily recommend GROUND CELERY SEED!. Two capsules (or tablets) daily helps keep gout at bay by returning your system to a more 'basic' state!. ('basic' is the opposite of acidic, the celery Seed helps to counteract the acidity of the Uric Acid)!. I take two every day and on days when I suspect I've eaten too much of the wrong foods, I take an extra two!. It has been over a year since even a hint at an attack!.

Yes!. Acute gout is intensely inflammatory, and is therefore characterized by severe pain, redness, swelling, and disability!.
Maximal severity of the attack is usually reached over several hours; complete resolution of the earliest attacks almost inevitably occurs within a few days to several weeks, even in untreated individuals!.
At least 80 percent of initial attacks involve a single joint, typically in the lower extremity, most often at the base of the great toe (first metatarsophalangeal joint, known as podagra), or in the knee!.
The signs of inflammation associated with acute gout often extend beyond the confines of the joint that is primarily involved and, in the foot or ankles, may give the impression of arthritis in several contiguous joints!.
Involvement in an ANKLE or instep, or in a wrist, finger, or olecranon bursa may occur initially, or more commonly in a recurrent episode of gouty arthritis!.
Lower extremity and distal joint involvement usually predominates, especially in initial or early attacks; however, the shoulders, hips, sternoclavicular joints, and even the spine and sacroiliac joints may become inflamed and cause diagnostic confusionWww@Answer-Health@Com

The urate crystals that accumulate and solidify over time (tophi) can deposit in any joint, bone or in cartilage and in the skin anywhere in the body!. So, yes, one can have gouty arthritis in the ankle!. It's a joint and it's composed of bones!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Quick answer yes you can get it almost anywhere and it can spread so you need to see a doc if you suspect !.Www@Answer-Health@Com
