Hey there!
I have a couple of suspicious moles and 2 on my back at my bra line that I want removed before I get married!. They've always bugged me and gotten in the way!. Anyhow, I need to get them taken care of too!.
My mom has had moles removed before but I haven't yet!. I've always asked other people about it too!. It's definitely a good idea to watch your moles (especially those you don't remove) and see if they change at all (Color, Size, Irregular lines) and watch for new moles that might pop up!. This way you can point them out to your doctor and get any suspicious moles tested!.
I've heard many people suggest going to a plastic surgeon but I'm not sure if insurance will cover that!. The way most people deal with getting moles removed is to talk to their primary care physician and have her write a referral to a dermatologist, sometimes you get lucky and the p!.c!.p knows of a plastic surgeon/dermatologist!. That's how I suggest going about it!.
The actual procedure is different for different sizes!. Smaller ones can be frozen off and possible medium and larger ones too!. They use lidocaine and liquid nitrogen for this!. It may sting and hurt for a bit but I've heard it's ultimately the best way of having moles removed!.
The other method seems to be cutting them off which probably requires some kind of suture glue or a small stitch!. Seems like more of a possibility of scarring with this method!? I'm not quite sure!.
Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
