Can being exposed to an allergen... 10pts?!

Question: Can being exposed to an allergen!.!.!. 10pts!?
Say you're not severely allergic to something (as in no throat swelling shut right away, more of a mild reaction) if you were exposed to an allergen for a long continuous period of time could it set off a severe allergic reaction!?

What about Type 4 allergies, it says these often have a delayed effect of 2-3 days of showing symptoms, so could you be exposed to something and 2-3 days later your body freaks out and you go into anaphylaxis!? (chlorine is supposedly a rare type 4 allergy)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
my answer for the first question is: no, you can't!. let's say you have mild reaction allergy to something!. it can't get worse even if you are exposed to allergen(same type-same quantity) several times!. everytime you are exposed to this allergen, you will experience mild allergy reaction!.

Allergy reaction type 4 means that if you are exposed to allergen now, your body still needs time to produce antibody that leads to allergy reaction!. the allergy reaction will occur if you are exposed to the allergen for the second or the third times(or more)!.thats why it's called delayed-type hypersensitivity!.
Let's say you are exposed to chlorine for the first time!. you dont feel anything wrong with your body, everything's normal!. But your body start producing antibody for chlorine!. then, the second time you are exposed to chlorine, you experience allergy reaction(rash, itching, etc)!.
hope it helps!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I like the term "not severely allergic" That is like saying "just a little bit pregnant" #1 You are either allergic or not !.!.!.the degree of severity of the reaction can vary and that may be what you mean by "severely allergic" as in not a severe reaction!.
Immunotherapy is where you expose someone to low doses of an allergen over a long period of time to increase immunity and decrease the allergic response!. The result is the opposite of what you hypothisize in your question!. A delay in reaction can come in the case of food allergy when the reaction occurs upon digestion and not upon ingestion!. Other "delayed" responses are actually where the body developed the IgE upon the first exposure but doesn't react until the subsequent exposure when the presence of the IgE causes the mast cells to produce histamine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
