Question: I am a Manufuacturing Supervisor and deal with on-the-job injuries on occasion!.!.!.!.!?
My employer has offered me a series of three Hepatitis vaccinations in case I were to ever come into contact with any of the various types!. I have talked to a Medic who told me unless I deal with these situations often, it's not worth the pain and hastle of getting the shots!. She said using my head and wearing gloves will be sufficient for the limited times I deal with it!. Tonight I had an employee get cut pretty good and I had to give him first aid before sending him off in an ambulence to the E!.R!., and it made me think about the shots!. What are your thoughts!? Should I just get it over with and get them!? Anyone else have these shots!? Your experiences!? I hate needles LOL!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Yes, wearing gloves can protect you!. But will you always have gloves close by during an emergency!?

How about if someone (who happens to have Hepatitis B) cuts themselves with glass and you cut yourself with the same glass while trying to provide first aid!?

Getting the Hepatitis B vaccines can protect you not just at work!. How about if you go on vacation to a third world country and suffer an injury that requires you to get a blood transfusion!? Other countries don't have the strict guidelines that the US has when dealing with blood!.

Plus, Hepatitis B can also be transmitted by having sex with somebody who has it!. The vaccines would protect you!.

If you refuse to get the vaccines offered by your employer, you'll have to sign a release saying you chose not to have them!. If you later get exposed to Hepatitis B at work, your employer won't be responsible!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
