Out of thyroid meds... (Please, NO SLAMMING!!!)?!

Question: Out of thyroid meds!.!.!. (Please, NO SLAMMING!!!)!?
Due to the loss of my job & insurance, I've been out of my thyroid meds for quite a while!. (Pharmacy wouldn't refill, doctors office wouldn't renew without complete work up)!. Now it seems that I have developed something like CFS or fibromyalgia or something!. Extreme pain and fatigue throughout my whole body are my main symptoms!. I can't walk or stand for more than five minutes!. Even brushing my teeth tires me out!. I finally got new scripts on Friday, but I'm worried I may have caused irrepairable damage to my body!. I don't want to mention it to my doctor YET, because of the fear of losing my insurance completely since "I" stopped taking my meds!.

I'm thinking of going on a "raw food" diet (fruits and vegees only) to counter the damage I've done!. Any other advice / information!?

I KNOW I DID WRONG & I'm not looking for answers that will "SLAM" me for not doing what I should have - I'm also dealing with a lot of depression right now!. I'm just looking for some "kind, helpful answers"Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
all the symptoms you are listing are classic hypothyroid!.!.!.I bet that within 6 weeks you will feel right back to your old self!. you probably did not cause more damage, but your body is certainly telling you not to do it again! you must still have some function in your thyroid, so that has maintained you!. mayo clinic has all the symptoms of hypo hell, and you have it!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Most likely, your symptoms are from your thyroid problem-

Thyroid symptoms mimic Fibromylagia- Throid symptoms also cause depression
once you have been back on your meds for a while-see how you feel-if you haven't gotten better-than explore other possibilities like Fibromyalgia or depression-

I have never heard of anyone losing their insurance for not taking meds!.

It really depnds on how long you were off your meds-if you did any damage-you may make a full recovery once you are back on for a whileWww@Answer-Health@Com

Take coconut oil !. It stimulates the thyroid!. Get a lot of sleep!.

This is not a replacemeny though

dont worry u havent done permanant damage!.it will take awhile till ur new meds kick in and u feel better, but nothing lasting will result!.dont do the raw foods thing!.u'll end up making urself weaker with diarrhea and resulting loss of electrolytes!.i take levoxyl!.went on a one month trip to mexico, forgot my meds!.what happened to me!?nothing!.absolutely nothing! u will be fine,i had no lasting damage after skipping meds for nearly 5 weeks!.so dont worry!.eat a healthy but not extreme diet, get rest and excercise-walking is good-4 times a week!.good luck! ditto--AVOID SOY !!!!!!!!(good for most people, bad for thyroid patients) ps-i didnt go to "tourist mexico",i was hiking in the rainforest-no doctors for miles,so i couldnt ask for a prescription!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
