my housemates blood sugar leval is 2!.9 but he does not feel well nor looks unwell he has just started a med called diaformin just wondering if anyone had a suggestion as to why this is so low or how to correct itWww@Answer-Health@Com

Visit my blog site and print off the Blood Glucose Level chart!. It relates HbA1C and daily finger prick blood glucose levels!. Study the chart and you will see that 2!.9 is really low!. My chart converts US and Canadian readings!.

useful in those who are overweight, when diet and exercise are not enough to lower high blood glucose levels (hyperglycaemia)!.
You did not say if your housemate was over weight, but he is, it may be a good time for a annual physical!.

Any low below 3!.3 needs to be treated with glucose tablets right away!.
2!.9 is really too low!. He may need to adjust his Diaformin dose!. He should talk to his doctor about this as soon as possible!.
Going this low poses the risk of passing out, going into a coma and possible brain damage!. If it happened when he was home alone, and if he's not treated with glucogon injection, he could die!.
This is pretty serious!. Tell him to get his meds adjusted right away!. Or the doctor might advise him to eat a bit more carbs to help prevent going very low!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

29 is very low!. I start feeling jittery and nervous at about 70!. Give him orange juice and maybe peanut butter and crackers if he is low
