I work with birds every day and am also an avian vet tech!. It is not common for people to get sick from birds!. A bird can spread Psittacosis to humans, but it is not a common thing!. Symptoms would be similar to the flu or a cold or upper respiratory infection!. Some people can have allergies to birds!. Symptoms of this would usually include itching eyes and sneezing!.
